HB: Hi Lara! So wait, who is Jasmina Yim?
Lara: That's my mare! She's my initial muse.
HB: Awww, I love that! And, I need to know, why did you choose a lightning sign as your logo?
Lara: I chose it because my horse carries a similar marking on her face, making it both personal and symbolic. The lightning also captures the spirit of my comic series and paintings: chaos, fun, adventure and the unexpected wisdom that emerges from it. Chaos, after all, can be a better guide than the safety of a steady, ordinary life.
HB: What is Finca Friends?
Lara: It's a painting and drawing series in comic-style characters of every animal and human who plays a role at Atzaró Valley Horses.
HB: Cool! And can you tell us about your artmaking process?
Lara: First, I sketch each figure as a cartoon, and if the inspiration hits, I turn it into a canvas painting. So far, I've brought 42 characters to life.
